My Deville only has 51,000 miles on it, but it is a 1996, so maybe its an age related failure and not a mileage related failure grease dried out or leaked out. Factory recommended … replacement interval is 90,000 miles. The reference marks on the camshaft gears should be aligned with the corresponding notches on the rear timing belt cover, as well as the mark on the crankshaft sprocket and oil pump housing. The dealer stated that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The recall is expected to begin in late August 2014. Seal and thermostat on backorder, had to take vehicle back at a later date. All the glory to jesus christ that their was no lost of life.

I want my motor fixed with out having to replace with a new one! I know-it happened to me and I took it to 2 car mechanics and they couldn't find out why. Reverse procedure to install and prior to installing new sensor, lubricate sensor O-ring. Dealers are to replace both front brake hose assemblies free of charge. Ken don't eliminate your alternator so fast. An updated page for the owner manual will be provided and inserted in the owner manual to document that the feature has been permanently disabled and removed from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times where several unknown repairs were performed on the vehicle but to no avail. This was about 3 months earlier. I had to come to a full stop coasting to side of road after having traffic fly by me on a 3 lane highway and then the car would restart like nothing happened. I've been told that if you spray … a little furniture polish like pledge and wipe it dry with a t-shirt it will fill in the scratches and stop most of the skips. Thanks Mike Replaced both tensioner and idler pulley on my 96 sls , at about 75000, Removed most of bearing noise , and i thought it was the alternator too, but , remember the water pump has a small tensioner on it , and guess what. If power steering is lost, a warning message is displayed on the driver information center and a chime sounds. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. I have to restart it again. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Are you sure a Cadillac has a timing belt? Oil is cheap, timing chains are not. About 4,500 are in dealer hands and can't be sold until they are repaired.
