What are some common issues with the Saab 9
It gets good gas mileage and has been low maintenance overall. I have had poor dealers and some that could take the same problem and have me out in minutes. We have a quick tutorial on how to go about changing this pump here. Three days ago it took a couple minutes of cranking to start. It has been nice that the dealer has been helpful with these issues, however I have been making trips and phone calls over and over to the dealership.

Turbo failures happen, usually they start sending oil into combustion. IĀ can fold down the seats and pack so much in there. I still own it because the resale value for the car dropped so dramatically and so quickly after I purchased it see Consumer Report , that it made sense to me to try to get as many miles out of if as I could. I've been reading the other complaints and my guess is I will have to replace some shaft sensor. And I have been calling around me to see if a shop would look at it. By the way, not all Saabs are junk.

Luckily we sell enough of these in Genuine Saab to keep in stock. I was told that since Saab went out of business, the only way that car dealers can find parts, is to look in the internet, and pay cash! I do not work on cars. I took it in and was told the crank shaft position sensor needed to be replaced. The same is true of the 9-5s I have owned and do own. With no more metal fuel tanks or gas station tanks, there generally is much less to filter. The best guy I could find said it would probably cost me a couple hundred just to look at it.

The question is so broad as to be nearly unanswerable. Just make sure you are getting the right suspension options before ordering, as there are a few options dealing with. Tensioner for the seatbelts quit working - on warranty - fixed. Could the heat from the day the belt broke have damaged the coil cassette? And it was under warranty. This reveals a company that has no regard for human life or driver safety! Just passed 250,000 miles and the pattern continues. Shortly after, my ignition cassette failed. What an inconvenience for someone who works a lot.

If I could go back I would have never purchased this car. You will notice a definite change in the way the car drives at that point, and you should notice the corner with the broken spring will be sagging lower than the others. I would look around for another mechanic for a second opinion and a quote. I went back in January, and was told they would not honor the warranty, nor the existing repair needed. It recently started to stop part way with an error message of some obstruction in the trunk which is not the case. See the for more information. Your advice would be precious. Hi I just purchased a 07 Saab 9-3 aero turbo and was told that the wobble was because it is time for new tires. Also the plastic body of the shark fin antenna, and pieces around the rear windshield falling out. If this is going on you have two options. This apparently happened to me just this week from using an automatic carwash, resulting in water pooling in the front passenger floorboard under the glove compartment.

Most annoying car I have ever owned! He also said I had an actual Saab engine and it should last me about 300,000 miles. Because they wanted to make it perfect! I took it in and apparently the throttle position sensor needs to be replaced. Power steering pump leaking - on warranty - fixed. I can clearly tell the most of you are Americans. It should pop right up to 50 or 60psi when cranking.

Today it just cranks and cranks but will not start. Were major improvements made to the 2008-9 model over and above the 2006-7? When I bought it, it only had 22,000 miles and 3 months later, it was in the shop for a sensor. We are working on a kit that will have all the parts you need to drop the head off at the local machine shop. Loud noise from shocks over bumps. The issue is related to a sensor on the fuel pump which is prone to failure, resulting in a lost signal and an empty fuel reading. Take a look at your spark plugs, you can learn a lot about how the engine is running by seeing what the spark plugs look like.

But it's a lot of small things that makes me angry about this car. Remove the housing, clean the surfaces with rubbing alcohol, reseal with silicone caulk. Keep the information coming its very helpful, a little scary but helpful. Make sure that all the vacuum hoses are in good shape and nothing got messed up in the debacle. I am experiencing, for the third time, ignition issues and now I will have to worry how to pay for items that I had hoped would be covered.
