Their characters have fun, but make a bunch of stupid choices. Why would I put myself through that? Not sure what non-role players will think as there's lots of in-jokes but for the rest of us, just dig in and enjoy with a smile. Highly recommended, but basically a beach read for geeks. And then of course the world in which we actually follow the adventures of these main characters. One thing I learn going in to any new author, new series, or just new book, go in with no expectations. A very interesting story when compared to your traditional adventure game books, but that is what makes it a book that is difficult to put down. An interesting story with a definite unusual approach.
I sincerely hope there is a sequel, and will be first in line to read it if there is. This has been so fun, I'm half tempted to grab the next book in the series and just read them all back to back.
